ABOUT THE TRAINER

Hello, and welcome to LazyBones Dog Training!

Thank you for taking the time to read this brief introduction. I am a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, one of the few in Rhode Island certified by both the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). I am also a Family Paws Parent Educator and a Family Dog Mediator.

In addition to private behavior consulting and training therapy dogs, I have worked with shelters and rescue organizations for years. This experience has allowed me to help a wide variety of dogs with all types of behavior problems. Seeing the ways that dogs can go wrong, I know how to prevent many problems from developing in the first place. Especially with puppies and new rescue dogs, preventing behavior problems can save people lots of heartache later.

But what if your dog already has behavior issues like excessive barking, jumping on visitors, or snapping at your children? I can help with these as well. Usually, a little training can make a huge difference in the lives of both people and their dogs.

My background as a clinical social worker guides me to solve problems in ways that make sense for each unique situation. I have helped people and their dogs resolve issues such as:
* Adjusting to new home (puppies and rescue dogs)
* Jumping on people
* Lunging at dogs and people while on leash

* Pulling on leash during walks

* Multiple dog fights/conflict

* Chasing family cats

* Destructive behavior

* Fear/anxiety

* Aggression

My methods are friendly to dogs and to their humans.

Besides my work with dogs, I am a Certified Yoga Teacher, and a mother of four young adults. My family lives with dogs, cats, chickens, and guinea fowl in Chepachet, RI.

Thanks again for visiting my website!
